Privacy policy

This is a personal website with essays and posts. It has no accounts, comments, forms, newsletters, advertising, analytics or tracking. I have kept it that way deliberately, so this policy is short.

What I collect

Nothing directly. Reading this site does not send me your name, email address or any other personal information, and I do not use analytics of any kind.

What the host sees

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and protect against abuse, Cloudflare processes technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, and may keep them in logs for a short time. Cloudflare acts on my behalf under its privacy policy. I do not look at these logs and cannot identify individual visitors from them.

Cookies and local storage

I do not set any cookies. If you use the light/dark switch in the header, your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage on your own device so the site can remember it; nothing is sent to me. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from automated abuse. None of this requires a consent banner, which is why there isn’t one.

Links to other sites

Essays link to other websites, videos and documents that I do not control, each with its own privacy practices. Links that open in a new tab are marked as external.

If you email me

If you write to me, I keep your message and my reply for as long as the conversation is useful, and I do not share your address with anyone else.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data someone holds about you and to have it corrected or deleted. Since I hold none beyond any email you have sent me, the simplest way to exercise these rights is to email hello@samuelosei.com and ask.

Changes

If the site ever starts collecting anything, for example if I add a newsletter or analytics, I will update this page and change the date at the top.
